Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead product design from concept to production. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Industrial Design, Product Engineering and Project Management to deliver innovative features that meet cost and performance targets.

The role requires at least 7 years of mechanical design experience, strong Creo skills, and experience with Ansys/Moldflow or willingness to learn. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field.
• Minimum of 7 years Mechanical Design experience, ideally in consumer products.
• Minimum of 3 years Creo experience, including top-down design and surfacing tools.
• Simulation experience with Ansys and Moldflow or willingness to learn both.
• Experience writing technical specifications, manuals, and test procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to balance time, cost, and performance expectations.
• Experience designing products made of polymers and metals.

Responsibilities

• Lead design initiatives from concept through production using a stage-gate process.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Industrial Design, and PM to define scope and design.
• Create 3D/2D data; verify tolerances; support rapid prototyping for testing.
• Develop product specifications to drive new ideas and feature patentability.
• Manage product data in PLM; ensure accurate file transfer across functions.
• Ensure manufacturability and apply DFM/DFA principles.
• Provide technical support and solve quality issues in existing products.
• Travel to domestic and international manufacturing sites as needed.
