Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Global Monetization Legal - Senior Product Counsel to support revenue-generating products from San Jose. The role partners with Product and Engineering globally to navigate risks during development, launch, and post-launch, drafting terms and policies as needed.

Applicants should have a JD and CA or NY bar, with 5+ years in-house or related product counseling at a tech platform, plus experience in GenAI, privacy, data protection, or adtech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of California or New York bar.
• 5+ years of law practice, including in-house product counseling at a technology platform.
• Experience in GenAI, privacy and data protection, and/or adtech.
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and with cross-functional/global teams.
• Ability to prioritize and manage long-term projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a product counsel supporting TikTok's revenue divisions by partnering with Product and Engineering teams worldwide.
• Provide proactive legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
• Draft terms, disclosures, agreements, policies, guidelines and public-facing materials for product initiatives.
• Collaborate with global legal teams to ensure coordinated, comprehensive advice.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams across time zones on product issues.
