Responsibilities

• Implement countywide strategies in designated markets and develop state-specific changes.
• Execute end-to-end state rate changes from analysis to field alignment, filing and system implementation.
• Establish goals independently for state rate reviews, including top-line and competitive metrics.
• Conduct original analytics to uncover trends within PURE’s portfolio and the broader marketplace.
• Monitor competitor activities and provide timely insights to field partners.
• Understand market dynamics and support changes to offerings and processes.
• Create and communicate concise proposals with recommendations to stakeholders.
• Cultivate relationships with insurance departments and legislators to facilitate approvals.
• Develop cross-department relationships that support product development, underwriting, distribution, claims and services.
• Independently resolve roadblocks while achieving state objectives.

About the role.

The State Management Senior Product Analyst is a member of the Product Management team and will be based out of our Chicago, IL office. We are seeking an intelligent, data-minded individual with strong quantitative and analytic skills and relevant insurance experience to assist in the successful implementation of high net worth property and casualty (P&C) insurance products and rates in support of our sustainable growth objectives.

What you’ll do.

• Responsible for implementing countywide strategies in designated markets in addition to developing state specific changes
• Responsible for executing end-to-end state rate changes from original analysis through field alignment, filing submission, and system implementation, meeting with state specific standards and compliance
• Establish goals independently for state rate reviews, including top-line and competitive metrics, as well as indication analysis utilizing provided data access and support
• Conduct original and creative analysis to uncover trends across PURE’s portfolio and externally in the marketplace
• Monitor competitor activities and provide field partners with insights, with the ability to ascertain relevant items in a timely manner.
• Understand market dynamics and support efforts to make changes to business offerings and processes
• Create and communicate concise proposals with recommendations to stakeholders
• Cultivate relationships with insurance departments and legislators to facilitate approvals on proposed changes
• Develop a network of reliable, efficient working relationships with other departments including product development, underwriting, distribution, claims, service, communications and other areas that support the business
• Independently attempt to resolve roadblocks while achieving state level objectives
• Mentor and support more junior analysts

What you'll need.

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in an analytical field of study such as Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or Actuarial Science
• 2-3 years of relevant, analytical experience
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to organize and transform large datasets to stand up analytical exercises
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

What will set you apart.

• Property & Casualty Insurance experience; background in High Net Worth P&C Insurance a plus
• Versed in the Actuarial ratemaking process
• Ability to write and update SQL queries
• Knowledge of the North American P&C industry, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability; comprehensive understanding of legislative and Department of Insurance regulations

The base salary for this role can range from $70,000 to $80,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
