Job summary

FinQuery is seeking a Senior Product Accounting Manager to translate complex accounting standards into software requirements across our product portfolio. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure the platform reflects accurate interpretations of US GAAP, IFRS, GASB, and related frameworks.

You’ll drive AI-enabled research, document conclusions, and mentor junior staff as FinQuery expands globally from our Atlanta HQ.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of corporate debt structures and accounting treatments, with specific expertise in navigating complex debt arrangements typical of private equity (PE)-backed companies
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to translate standards into plain language for non-accounting audiences
• Working knowledge of IFRS and international frameworks preferred, with GASB experience as a plus
• Ability to research technical accounting guidance independently and produce documented conclusions
• Proficiency with AI tools and LLMs, including effective prompt writing and critical output evaluation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical, executive, and customer-facing audiences
• Ability to lead cross-functional working groups and influence outcomes without direct authority
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent research and project workstreams independently
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, with an advanced degree preferred
• Active CPA license required
• Four to six years of progressive experience in Big 4 audit/assurance or senior corporate accounting
• Extensive background in technical accounting research, documentation, and standard application

Responsibilities

• Be the accounting expert inside Product; translate US GAAP, IFRS, GASB into software requirements and test cases for the product portfolio
• Research and rule on ambiguous accounting questions and document reasoning
• Stay ahead of standard-setters by monitoring publications and guidance across US, UK, and other markets
• Build the accounting foundation for new products with solid coverage
• Use AI as a force multiplier and govern it; ensure AI-generated content is accurate
• Talk to customers; join calls and defend software handling of complex scenarios
• Teach the company; write customer bulletins and brief leadership on new guidance
• Test what we ship; validate accounting features end-to-end
• Mentor junior team members and raise the bar for the team
