Job summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Principal Producibility Engineer to join the Critical Item Producibility Readiness Department. This remote-based role partners with Mechanical Engineering, Design and Drafting, and suppliers to optimize producibility and drive cost out through DFMA engagements and tolerance analysis.

You will influence designs early, perform producibility assessments, leverage CAD tools like DFM-Pro, manage cost-reduction initiatives, and coordinate with program teams to ensure

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent; 8+ years experience preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, casting, welding, forging, injection mold, etc.).
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing and/or Assembly workshops.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Influence design producibility with hardware design team.
• Lead DFMA engagements to reduce design cost.
• Use CAD tools to analyze and optimize designs (DFM-Pro).
• Track DFMA engagements by discipline; review for completeness.
• Manage product cost reduction initiatives toward a target.
• Perform and review one-dimensional tolerance analyses.
• Assess supplier capability and readiness; support delivery success.
• Engage with program design teams; communicate results; negotiate changes.
• Occasional travel to support supplier activities and collaboration.
