Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking an experienced engineer in Tucson, Arizona, to work on hardware design and manufacturability. You will evaluate designs and lead DFMA workshops to optimize product costs. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s in a STEM field and significant engineering experience.

Qualifications

• 8 years of professional engineering experience required.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, etc.
• Must obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with hardware design team to influence design producibility.
• Perform producibility assessments and lead DFMA engagements.
• Leverage CAD tools to analyze and optimize designs.
• Track DFMA engagements and review for completeness.
• Manage product cost reduction initiatives.
• Perform one-dimensional tolerance analyses.
• Assess suppliers for capability and readiness.
• Engage with program design teams and negotiate modifications.
• Occasional travel required to support supplier activities.
