Responsibilities

• Implement all company and division policies to achieve maximum sales and profits in the produce departments.
• Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Develop maximum customer relations by produce department personnel through friendliness and courtesy, following policies.
• Be alert and assist in store security.
• Be perceptive and handle customer complaints.
• Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplining, transferring, and evaluating all produce department personnel.
• Provide adequate knowledge and training of price marking and ensure proper emphasis on customer courtesy and productivity.
• Supervise all aspects of salad bar operations.
• Discuss with store manager efficient schedules for full and part-time employees.
• Maintain personable, clean, and neat appearance of departmental staff; ensure proper uniforms and identification.
• Maintain good communication with all store personnel.
• Plan, organize, direct, and control produce department activities; may direct store operation in the manager's absence.
• Direct receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of all produce products.
• Ensure adequate stock by proper ordering to maintain optimum inventories.
• Maintain and submit required records and use them effectively.
• Maintain housekeeping: clean cases, floors, cooler, and preparation areas; proper waste disposal.
• Keep adequate supplies on hand (bags, pricing, equipment).
• Continuously analyze department (space, design, display, rotation, inventories, personnel) and propose changes.
• Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Demonstrate aptitude to manage people and workloads.
• Perform duties as assigned by store manager or supervisor.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
