Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Produce Buyer to manage inventory levels, forecasts and supplier relationships across multiple distribution centers. The role emphasizes accuracy in cost, PO processing and collaboration with logistics and product teams.

Hybrid work arrangement with onsite presence part of the month; candidates should reside near Omaha or other specified locations. Strong analytical and vendor-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing or related logistics experience.
• Experience in a large, fast-paced foodservice purchasing/logistics environment preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver KPIs for service level, DIOH, spoilage and freight.
• Review projected stock to meet customer orders.
• Create efficient purchase orders with suppliers using EOQ and lead times.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture trends and costs.
• Partner with logistics to identify freight consolidation opportunities.
• Execute forward-buy opportunities to improve profitability.
• Maintain PO cost accuracy and reconcile costs weekly.
• Verify PO costs with vendor confirmations and resolve discrepancies.
