Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist to support shipyard construction and repair programs. Responsibilities include procurement, bid development, cost/price analyses, and supplier performance management to ensure on-time delivery and best value.

The role emphasizes compliance with FAR/DFARS, budgeting and process improvements, with potential guidance to less experienced staff within the SCM team.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Liberal Arts or related field.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other regulations impacting the procurement process.
• Experience in executing procurements under government and commercial contracts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate purchase orders and monitor supplier performance.
• Manage inventory across multiple commodities.
• Develop complex bids and perform cost/price analyses.
• Conduct EAC (Estimates at Completion) analyses and support budgeting.
• Coordinate with other departments and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Support process improvements to cost, safety and quality.
