Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Procurement Specialist I to drive sourcing strategy, evaluate supplier offerings, and negotiate contracts to meet departmental needs.

You will gather business requirements, issue RFPs/RFQs, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a climate-controlled office.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 0-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes sourcing strategy, evaluates product offerings, negotiates contracts for assigned categories or departments.
• Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.
• Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids or other information.
• Evaluates proposals/quotes based on quality, cost, or other criteria and recommends suppliers that best meet requirements.
• Works with selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements.
• Oversees tactical purchasing operations such as issuance of purchase orders or payment of invoices.
• Ensures all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
