Job summary

Electronic Power Design, Inc. in Houston seeks a Senior Purchasing Agent to lead complex procurement activities and optimize supplier performance across manufacturing operations.

You will mentor junior buyers, manage ERP data in GSS and other systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely material availability and cost-effective purchasing decisions. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of manufacturing purchasing, strong negotiation, and Excel analytics to reduce risk and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, buyer, or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems including GSS, SAP, Epicor, Oracle, Infor, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills with reporting, pivots, lookups, and procurement analytics.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Experience mentoring Purchasing Agents or junior staff.
• CPP, CPSM, CSCP, CPIM certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing activities for assigned commodities and critical materials.
• Prepare, release, maintain, and update purchase orders in GSS.
• Coordinate supplier acknowledgments, delivery confirmations, and expediting.
• Mentor Purchasing Agents and support onboarding and training.
• Drive supplier performance, risk mitigation, and data integrity in ERP.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure material availability.
