Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation seeks a PURCHASING AGENT III to manage complex procurement for facilities management. You will analyze requests, develop solicitations, coordinate ITBs/RFPs/ITNs, and administer contract maintenance in MFMP and FLAIR.

The role requires strong negotiation and governance skills, training others, and ensuring compliance across departments. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lake City, FL with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 4 years of professional or non-professional purchasing experience or an associate’s degree plus 2 years in competitive procurement
• Florida Certified Contract Negotiator can substitute for education requirement
• Experience with bidding thresholds and MFMP processes is preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze procurement requests and review specifications/scopes.
• Provide instruction to project managers and ensure proper solicitation development.
• Coordinate procurement actions including ITB, RFP, ITN, single source and exempt sources.
• Enter encumbrance information and ensure correct coding in MFMP and FLAIR.
• Coordinate with cost center managers, legal, and vendors to process contracts and amendments.
• Conduct informal training to improve procurement understanding for cost centers and consultants/vendors.
• Assist in resolution of vendor performance and contract compliance issues.
• Prepare, track, and manage supplements, amendments and renewals.
