What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Purchase goods and services by determining the most appropriate source selection method in accordance with university purchasing regulations
- Develop bid specifications by investigating product lines and services and consulting with end-users and suppliers
- Manage and execute contracts by reviewing compliance, negotiating terms, and obtaining necessary approvals
- Educate campus departments on CSU Procurement and Fiscal Rules while providing consultation and training
- Mediate vendor and end-user disputes and resolve invoicing and shipping problems

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively complex professional experience in public procurement, or a High School Diploma with eight (8) years of related experience
- Substantial experience with high volume, high dollar transactions and complex procurements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with competitive solicitations such as Invitations for Bids and Requests for Proposals
- Skills in critical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Experience with the Kuali Financial System and Jaggaer (formerly SciQuest)
- Nationally recognized procurement certification such as C.P.M., CPPB, CPPO, NIGP-CPP, CPSM, or CPCM
