Bayside Health is seeking a Senior Procurement Projects Manager for a 12-month fixed-term role based at The Alfred. You will lead procurement projects from planning through execution in collaboration with category managers and stakeholders.

Role focuses on strategic sourcing, commercial analysis, and documentation to deliver value-for-money outcomes in a hybrid work environment with strong staff benefits.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, business, law, engineering, project management, or related discipline.
  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial management, or contract management.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex procurement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing procurement documentation, evaluation reports, and business recommendations; strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation skills.

The Department

The Procurement, Property and Supply Chain team plays a critical role in supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives. The team provides expert procurement governance, strategic sourcing, category and contract management, commercial advisory services, supply chain support, and compliance oversight.

The function is responsible for delivering procurement outcomes that maximise value for money, ensure quality service delivery, align with business needs, mitigate risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and strengthen supply chain resilience across the health service.

The Role

The Senior Procurement Projects Manager is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity created to strengthen procurement and commercial capability during a period of significant organisational growth and transformation, including the formation of Bayside Health and an increasing portfolio of strategic procurement initiatives.

Reporting to the Director, Procurement, Property and Supply Chain, the role partners closely with procurement leaders, category managers, project teams, and key stakeholders to deliver strategic sourcing activities, commercial projects, and procurement initiatives across a diverse range of clinical and non‑clinical categories.

The position is responsible for leading assigned procurement projects from planning through to implementation, providing expert commercial analysis and procurement advice, developing procurement documentation, and supporting contract execution and management. The role plays a key part in ensuring priority projects are delivered efficiently, procurement risks are effectively managed, and value‑for‑money outcomes are achieved for the organisation.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Procurement Projects Manager also complements and enhances existing procurement capability, contributing specialist expertise and additional capacity to support the achievement of broader team and organisational objectives.

Experience And Qualifications Required

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential
  • A tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, business, law, engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial management, or contract management.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex procurement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing procurement documentation, evaluation reports, and business recommendations. Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Desirable
  • Professional procurement accreditation or membership (such as CIPS or equivalent).
  • Experience working within healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Exposure to technology, infrastructure, clinical, or professional services procurement.
  • Knowledge of Health Purchasing Victoria procurement requirements and public sector procurement frameworks.
