Job Overview:

Across KDP's multi-site North America manufacturing and distribution network, capital investment, plant reliability, MRO parts and services, and utilities are categories critical to supply chain performance.

The Senior Manager owns sourcing and category strategy for the capital and plant services portfolio: Capex, MRO supplies, spare parts, maintenance services, and utilities and telecom: This role is accountable for total value delivery while protecting uptime, parts availability, project timelines, and business continuity.

This role leads bid events, builds should-cost and TCO models, negotiates supply and service agreements, establishes supplier governance, and partners with Global Sourcing, Engineering, Maintenance and Reliability, Capital Projects, Operations, Facilities, Finance, and Legal to translate business and technical requirements into strategies that lower total cost while preserving reliability and continuity.

Reporting to North America Procurement leadership, this position leads a team of category managers and is based in the Burlington, MA; Montreal, Canada; or Essex, VT office on a hybrid schedule. Some travel is required for supplier reviews, site visits, and negotiations.

Category Scope

Capital equipment; MRO supplies, spare parts, and support equipment; MRO and maintenance services; storeroom and inventory programs; utilities (electricity, natural gas, water); and telecom. A total of $284M in addressable spend.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Owns category strategy with Global Sourcing across Capex, MRO, MRO Services, and Utilities & Telecom, building multi-year roadmaps balancing total cost, reliability, service, and risk.
  • Lead bid events and design award value maximizing strategies while protecting uptime, parts availability, schedules.
  • Apply full Strategic Category Management toolkit (RFQ/RFP/RFI, online auctions, collaborative sourcing, multi-event negotiations.
  • Build should-cost, TCO, and lifecycle-cost models; manage escalation mechanisms, indices, and inflation exposure across equipment, parts, services, and energy.
  • Develop market intelligence to shape long‑term strategy and prepare the category Annual Operating Plan and savings models in partnership with Finance.
  • Embed procurement early in capital planning with Engineering and Capital Projects, driving standardization, competitive bidding, and value engineering.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Reliability to optimize MRO parts strategies, storeroom and inventory management, vendor‑managed inventory, integrated supply, and critical‑spares availability.
  • Source and manage MRO and maintenance services agreements, including scope, SLAs, rate structures, and safety and compliance requirements.
  • Develop utilities and energy strategies — deregulated market procurement, contract structuring and optimize telecom sourcing and cost.
  • Negotiate agreements with Legal and key stakeholders and administer contracts in line with policy.
  • Identify value‑optimization opportunities and lead productivity efforts that support overall goals.
  • Proactively assess supplier risk and maintain business continuity plans: including dual‑sourcing of critical parts and supplier financial‑health monitoring and ensure suppliers meet all applicable food‑safety regulations and KDP's Ethical Sourcing Policy.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to advance KDP's responsible sourcing agenda
  • Build supplier KPIs and governance using scorecards, quarterly business reviews, continuous improvement, corrective action plans, and escalation protocols.
  • Develop executive relationships with strategic suppliers that drive innovation, capacity assurance, and service improvement.
  • Influence stakeholders on procurement policy and practice, strengthen data quality, spend visibility, and contract compliance across the supply base.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing team: setting expectations, evaluating, coaching, and growing capability, engagement, accountability, and succession readiness.
  • Establish staffing and resource plans, determining the right mix of sourcing activity and managing third‑party resource performance.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Delivery of annual productivity, cost avoidance, and value creation against AOP.
  • Total cost and TCO improvement across capital projects, MRO parts and services, and utilities.
  • Capital sourcing effectiveness: competitive bid coverage, standardization, and value‑engineering realization.
  • MRO parts performance: fill rate, critical part coverage, and inventory turns.
  • Utilities and energy cost performance versus market indices and contract‑coverage position.
  • Supplier service and quality performance, savings pipeline health, contract coverage and compliance.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction, team engagement, talent development, and succession readiness.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $130,700 - $150,000 USD
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Finance; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management. Team leadership in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing capital equipment and projects, MRO supplies and services, and/or utilities and energy.
  • Proven record leading bid events and negotiating supply, services, and Capex agreements with measurable cost and service improvement.
  • Expert in should-cost modeling, TCO and lifecycle costing, and price/index escalation mechanics.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and reliability operations, storeroom & inventory management, capital project processes, engineering standards, and plant safety requirements.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and commercial acumen, with advanced Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to draw conclusions from large data sets and communicate complex ideas.
  • Proven influence of senior stakeholders in cross-functional and organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience with SAP, sourcing platforms (e.g., Ariba), CMMS/EAM, and spend analytics (e.g., Power BI) preferred; CPG, food and beverage, or industrial manufacturing background strongly preferred, CPSM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma a plus.
