Job summary

MITRE’s Finance Business Operations seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist to manage procurement of commodities and labor services, ensuring compliance with policies and FAR. The role reports to a Procurement Supervisor and will be hybrid, with 60% on-site work at the Bedford, MA campus.

The candidate will negotiate SLAs, licenses, and terms, drive process improvements, and collaborate with internal customers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5+ years in procurement with a degree or equivalent.
• Experience in procurement acquisition and contract negotiations.
• Proven history of successful negotiations and cost savings.
• Experience with SaaS, hardware, and software contracts.
• Labor-based contracting and subcontracting experience.
• Analytical skills to assess proposals and costs.

Responsibilities

• Process high volume requisitions for commodities and labor services following policies.
• Negotiate and execute vendor agreements and terms of purchase.
• Apply continuous improvement to procurement processes.
• Autonomously manage procurements and develop compliant packages.
• Understand audit requirements (DCAA/DCMA) and ensure compliance.
• Communicate clearly and build internal/external relationships.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.
