Under minimal supervision, this role provides contract and procurement compliance analysis to ensure regulatory and contractual alignment with company policy. The position serves as a subject matter expert on complex procurement compliance, guiding interpretation of federal regulations and company requirements, and strengthening audit readiness across the procurement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and 10+ years of progressive contracting/procurement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFAR, DEAR, CAS, ITAR and/or EAR regulations.
  • Ability to independently research, interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Experience identifying compliance risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience coordinating complex work to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team and possibly work extended hours.

Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. Under minimal supervision, this position exercises considerable latitude in performing contract and/or procurement analysis to ensure compliance with regulations, contractual requirements and Company policy. Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on complex procurement compliance matters and plays a key role in strengthening the effectiveness, consistency, and audit readiness of the procurement compliance function.

DUTIES AND RESPOSNIBILITIES
  • Analyzes data and complex business situations and develops innovative, practical solutions to problems of unusual complexity; advises management and functional stakeholders on actions to be taken.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on procurement compliance and provides guidance on the interpretation and application of federal regulations, contractual requirements, and Company policies.
  • Provides risk-based guidance on complex procurement matters, balancing regulatory and contractual requirements with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Compiles and analyzes procurement and compliance data to identify trends, recurring deficiencies, systemic risks and areas for process improvement; develops new standards, controls or techniques as required.
  • Develops, implements, maintains and audits policies, procedures and associated documentation to promote consistent and compliant procurement practices.
  • Evaluates procurement processes, documentation and internal controls for compliance effectiveness and audit readiness and recommends appropriate corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory and contractual changes and evaluates their impact on procurement policies, procedures, systems and business practices.
  • Serves as a key resource for internal and external audits, government reviews, self‑assessments and other procurement oversight activities and supports the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Partners with Procurement, Supply Chain and other functional stakeholders to promote accountability, consistent application of requirements, and continuous improvement across the procurement compliance function.
  • Represents the organization as a prime consultant and technical spokesperson on assigned procurement compliance matters and may make internal or external presentations as required.
  • Provides technical direction, mentoring, and guidance to professional or technical staff and may participate in the selection, development, and training of staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and ten or more years of progressive professional contracting and/or procurement compliance experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of FAR, DFAR, DEAR, CAS, ITAR and/or EAR regulations as well as a thorough understanding of one or more of the following: supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, material management, price/cost analysis and/or production control principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to independently research, interpret and apply complex regulatory, contractual and policy requirements and translate those requirements into practical and supportable business guidance.
  • Must have experience identifying compliance risks, evaluating procurement processes or documentation, and developing appropriate corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating complex work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes, standards and compliance solutions.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to identify issues, assess risk, analyze data and develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity;
    • strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings and recommendations;
    • strong interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with management, internal and external customers, auditors and other professionals; and
    • strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Experience supporting procurement audits, government reviews, Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSRs), self‑assessments or similar compliance activities is preferred.
  • Experience developing or implementing procurement policies, procedures, internal controls, corrective actions or training is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certification in contract management, such as CFCM, CPCM, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary Salary range: 99,500 - 170,750
