Job summary

NFM Lending is seeking a Senior Processor in Vernon, NJ to obtain and prepare loan documents, credit documents, appraisals, and related records. You will verify accuracy, perform data entry, and coordinate verifications, appraisals, title work, and FHA case numbers to keep loans on track.

The role requires advanced knowledge of mortgage processing and underwriting guidelines, strong problem solving, and the ability to communicate across originators, clients, and lenders.

  • Review 1003 for accuracy and ensure all underwriting and funding conditions are cleared.
  • Communicate with loan originators, clients, and lenders to resolve issues.

Job description

Position Summary:The Senior Processor obtains and prepares loan documents, credit documents, appraisals, etc., to complete loan files. Maintains and updates records and files for processing of each loan; verifies for accuracy and completeness; performs data entry. May prepare credit reports and/or purchase contracts.Essential Job Functions:Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:Carry pipeline 25-45 loans.Review new files within 24-48 hours.Close every loan on Time.Order all verifications, appraisals, title work, FHA case numbers.Develop and maintain knowledge and comply with company policy and secondary market requirements pertaining to credit/security standards and regulatory requirements relative to conventional, government and self-employed loans requirements.Stay abreast of changes in policies, standards and regulations applicable to work unit.Understand and apply local, state, and federal regulations relating to processing mortgage loans.Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely, objective and confidential manner.Advanced knowledge of complex mortgage loan processing and associated documentation and underwriting guidelines required.Act as trouble-shooter for problem loans, interacting between Loan Originators, client, and lender.Log new loans.Review 1003 for accuracy.Prepare stipulation file/requirements and reviewing with Loan Originator.Follow up to ensure Statement of Credit Denial letters issued.Prepare and distribute aging reports to Originators.Pre-underwrite all loans to ensure proper supporting documentation.Coordinate and distribute lender and underwriting changes.Request routine additional documentation from loan customer.Collect, submit and clear ALL underwriting and ALL funding conditions.Coordinate closing date and location between Loan Originator, lender, and closing agent.Review HUD prior to closing.Ensure proper timelines and follow up procedures are adhered to with loans in Prospect list and Pipeline list.All changes in lenders and programs by lenders must be approved by Director of Operations prior to changes.Required Job Functions:Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:Identify and follow through on solutions for problems or potential problems with staff, cleanliness of office, orders, flow of customers and visitors, as well as problems with computers and software.Verify confidentiality is secure by keeping drawers and sensitive information in locked drawers/cabinets.Effectively communicate, work with, and build relationships with all levels of constituents including culturally and linguistically diverse staff members and external candidates and/or vendors, while operating in a fast-paced customer service driven environment.This position may require occasional overtime and travel.Additional tasks as assigned.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Actual compensation will be decided based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience assessed during the interview process, and internal pay equity.
