The Senior Processing Technician sets up and operates various drying, oil processing, dry air, and other processing equipment associated with the manufacturing of power transformers. Performs basic mechanical assembly tasks related to manufacturing power transformers.
Summary:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform duties related to drying, oil processing, dry air, and other processing equipment, including programming and scheduling to move liquid materials within tank farms and from tank farms to the factory.
- Set up and operate oil purification, oil heating, and other oil handling equipment.
- Determine operation sequences and methods when specifications are imprecise or vague.
- Troubleshoot problems with materials, parts, prints, equipment, or products, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing work to meet manufacturing and schedule requirements.
- Ensure quality criteria are properly inspected, verified, and documented during manufacturing to meet specifications, tolerances, prints, and customer requirements, and identify and correct defects.
- Clarify and explain complex technical drawings, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Follow and adhere to standard work procedures and sequence of operations, maintaining manufacturing standards for quality and productivity.
- Perform TPM and preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Practice 6S and comply with all safety rules, guidelines, and safe working practices.
- Operate material handling and lifting equipment safely, such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissor lifts, work platforms, and air transporters.
- Assist in advanced training of new employees and develop training materials.
- Participate actively in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Assist other manufacturing areas as needed.
- Work under the direction of Hyosung HICO policies and procedures.
- Understand and uphold Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies.

Requirements:
Education, Skills, Experience, and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of manufacturing experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Advanced mechanical/technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience reading manufacturing drawings, specifications, prints, or work instructions.
- Developed math and geometry skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to use basic industrial measuring tools.
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills, especially MS Office, and understanding of computer applications.
- Experience with CNC software for CNC operations.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly, setup, and installation.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and measurement devices.
- Ability to work at heights and climb stairs.
- Ability to inspect work and follow instructions.
- Ability to operate powered equipment like forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Physical ability to use a hammer for extended periods, work in indoor temperatures, and perform repetitive movements.
- Capability to lift and carry weights up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in restricted spaces and at heights up to 25 feet.
- Use of PPE including hard hats, safety shoes, glasses, and gloves.
