Job description

Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift), Navy Systems (Job Number: 1281)

We are seeking a Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift) to join our federal team at our York, PA location in support of Navy Systems. The role involves performing non-destructive examinations such as dye penetrant tests and magnetic particle tests. Responsibilities include setting up, programming, and operating coordinate measuring machines, calibrating instruments, and inspecting various precision gauges, tools, and parts. The technician will also investigate a variety of assignments, including tooling, fixtures, production, and shipping operations, as well as instrument calibration and repair.

The job entails fabricating and assembling complex piping and pressure vessel components, working with ferrous and nonferrous metals, and performing welding operations, including coded and noncoded welding, using various techniques such as TIG, stick, and manual arc welding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform non-destructive testing and calibration of instruments.
  • Operate and maintain precision measurement equipment.
  • Inspect and calibrate gauges and measuring devices.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot various operational assignments.
  • Conduct surface and hardness tests, and perform audits and checks on machinery and parts.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives using statistical process control.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in tooling, fixtures, production, and inspection operations.
  • Ability to perform complex nondestructive tests and work with precision measurement tools.
  • Physical ability to handle materials and perform inspections.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly with SPC.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Over 3-4 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of shop practices, machine operation, and inspection procedures.

Shift: 2nd Shift

Pay: $30.12/hour plus shift differential
