Job summary

Arclin in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead risk assessments and PSM programs across our chemical processes. Travel is expected; this is a full-time corporate role with potential remote work.

The successful candidate will guide safety evaluations, incident investigations, and training to strengthen our safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience facilitating process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment techniques.
  • Understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and hazard analysis for Basic Process Control System (BPCS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, and critical/strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with Facility Siting, Dust Hazard Analysis and Hazardous Area Classification is a plus.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, PSP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain PSM programs to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate PHA, LOPA, and risk assessment activities with follow-up and closure of actions.
  • Mentor other PHA facilitators in their growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety systems, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform safety evaluations of processes, equipment, and facilities to meet safety standards.
  • Investigate process safety incidents and conduct root cause analyses with preventive recommendations.
  • Provide technical support on process safety to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in process safety compliance audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process safety topics.
  • Monitor process safety performance metrics and report findings to management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety and adherence to regulations.

Job Summary:

Arclin is seeking a skilled and proactive Sr. Process Safety Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our chemical processes through risk assessments, safety evaluations, and the implementation of process safety management programs.

This role will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in Process Safety Management (PSM) across the company's manufacturing operations and requires a strong background in chemical engineering, safety protocols, industry trends, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management (PSM) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate PHA, LOPA, and risk assessment activities, ensuring documentation, follow-up, and closure of action items.
  • Mentor other PHA facilitators in their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety systems, procedures, and protocols to mitigate identified risks.
  • Perform safety evaluations of new and existing processes, equipment, and facilities to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate process safety incidents, perform root cause analyses, and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on process safety matters to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in process safety compliance audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process safety topics to enhance the safety culture within the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze process safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
