Job summary

Arclin is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to ensure safety and reliability of chemical processes through risk assessments, safety evaluations, and PSM program implementation. The role serves as a technical leader in Process Safety Management across manufacturing operations.

The candidate will lead PHA/LOPA activities, develop safety systems, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining regulatory compliance and safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment techniques.
  • Understanding of EPA RMP rules is a plus.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CSP/PSP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management (PSM) programs to ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
  • Lead PHA, LOPA, and risk assessment activities with proper documentation and closure of actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety systems, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform safety evaluations of processes, equipment, and facilities to meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate process safety incidents and perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical support on process safety to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in process safety compliance audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process safety topics.

Job Summary:

Arclin is seeking a skilled and proactive Process Safety Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our chemical processes through risk assessments, safety evaluations, and the implementation of process safety management programs. This role will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in Process Safety Management (PSM) across the company’s manufacturing operations and requires a strong background in chemical engineering, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management (PSM) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate PHA, LOPA, and risk assessment activities, ensuring documentation, follow-up, and closure of action items.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety systems, procedures, and protocols to mitigate identified risks.
  • Perform safety evaluations of new and existing processes, equipment, and facilities to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate process safety incidents, perform root cause analyses, and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on process safety matters to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in process safety compliance audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process safety topics to enhance the safety culture within the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze process safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of EPA RMP Rules and managing RMP programs is a plus.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Process Safety Professional) is a plus.
