Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Process Engineering team! This position has a possibility for remote work arrangement.

We provide a full range of process engineering services in the industrial sector, partnering with clients to design new process and manufacturing facilities from the ground-up or to debottleneck and maintain existing plants to optimize their use. From developing conceptual designs for early-stage site assessments, to providing full detailed design services and construction support, count on our team to develop a process solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients’ goals.

Responsibilities

1. Solve diverse and open-ended design problems facing industrial clients.
2. Design process and manufacturing facilities.
3. Identify, select, and recommend process equipment solutions for clients.
4. Prepare material balances, flowsheets and design calculations.
5. Understand process instrumentation and controls.
6. Develop full set construction documentation for projects.
7. Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplined design professionals on the project team, construction contractors, and external vendors.
8. Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review.
9. Provide project cost estimates.
10. May perform field inspections, research, measurements or calculations.
11. Attend client meetings.
12. Direct the work of drafters, designers, and/or other engineers.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
2. 6+ years of related process engineering experience with projects in the manufacturing and industrial markets is required.
3. EIT (Engineer In Training) certification is required; PE license is preferred.
4. Proficiency in process and mechanical design (manufacturing, material balances, P&IDs, PFDs, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications).
5. Proficiency with spreadsheet-based design tools.
6. Drafting experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Plant 3D is a plus.
7. Hands-on project coordination experience is a plus.
8. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
