Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a process and automation engineer to own the SPM production line from commissioning to steady-state production. You will translate system requirements into equipment configurations, develop SOPs, and ensure MES integration and data traceability.

Strong on-site collaboration with vendors and manufacturing engineers is required. You will drive sustaining engineering and process improvements, address on-floor issues, and help transition from installation to full-rate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on PLC programming/integration and MES interfacing with production equipment.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, or control plans for active production.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve on-floor equipment or process issues.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and manufacturing engineers during commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Support the NPI Systems Engineer during design, delivery, and commissioning of the SPM line.
• Develop and own SOPs and work instructions from cell intake through PVA build.
• Serve as process engineering counterpart to the MES buildout and ensure data capture and traceability.
• Own or lead process-improvement efforts: yield loss root-cause analysis and proven changes.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and internal engineers to validate process capability against targets.
