Job summary

Molex is seeking a Senior Process Integration Engineer to develop and optimize processes for advanced fiber‑optic Optical Circuit Switch products. You will collaborate across product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D and manufacturing to enable next‑gen AI clusters and data centers.

The role requires a Master’s in optics or related field, 5+ years in optical process development, and hands‑on testing and integration experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required with optical orientation.
  • 5+ years of process development experience in optical products, especially fiber‑optic systems.
  • Hands-on experience in fiber optical system integration, calibration, and testing.
  • Experience with optical assemblies using adhesives, solders, etc.
  • Familiarity with opto‑mechanical design concepts.
  • Proficient with measurement instruments (optical power meters, OSA, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience in experimental data analysis and programming (Python).
  • Knowledge of DOE and FMEA.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling and risk analysis.
  • Familiar with NPI processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process design and development for Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) products.
  • Own process development for final assembly and system‑level integration of OCS products.
  • Drive calibration and testing of processes with the test teams.
  • Partner with reliability engineering for QA and reliability testing.
  • Continuously improve OCS process platform for performance, yield, and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and peers in R&D.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation per ISO standards.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional activities through ECO procedures.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Process Integration Engineer for a visible, full-time role. This position will focus on developing and optimizing processes for cutting‑edge fiber‑optic Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) products, supporting next‑generation AI Clusters and Data Centers.

The ideal candidate will work within a dynamic, cross‑functional team – including product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D, test and automation, and manufacturing, etc. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues across global sites and engage with internal and external component suppliers.

What You Will Do
  • Lead process design and development for Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) products, working closely with senior engineers and managers
  • Own process development for final assembly and system‑level integration of the OCS products
  • Drive calibration and test of process development with the testing engineering teams
  • Partner with reliability engineering teams for quality assurance and reliability testing
  • Continuously improve OCS process platform for performance, yield, and reliability
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and peer engineers of the R&D team
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation following the ISO standards
  • Coordinate cross‑functional product activities (engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality) through the engineering change request (ECO) procedures
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Master's degree in physical science or engineering discipline with an optical orientation
  • At least 5 years of process development experience in optical products, with a focus on fiber‑optic systems and components
  • Hands‑on experience in fiber optical system integration, calibration, and testing
  • Experience with optical assemblies with application of optical adhesives, solders, etc
  • Familiar with the opto‑mechanical design concept and principles
  • Proficient with measurement instruments such as optical power meters, OSA, and Oscilloscopes
  • Experienced in experimental data analysis and proficient in programming (e.g. Python)
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling & risk analysis, and mitigation
  • Familiar with new product introduction (NPI) processes
What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with developing the calibration and testing algorithms for optical products

For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000 - $210,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
