Gift of Life Donor Program is a non-profit agency serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. We are responsible for recovering organs and tissues used in lifesaving and life-enhancing transplants.
Job Summary
The Senior Process Improvement Advisor partners with clinical and administrative leaders to develop a PI project pipeline and execute complex process improvement initiatives. Is responsible for the entire project life cycle, including planning, solution development, testing, and post-implementation monitoring. Engages with frontline staff to facilitate projects and to develop effective solutions. Includes travel to different hospitals as needed to observe the work of the clinical team. Analyzes data to form the development of a solution and provides routine updates to leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and manages projects
- Facilitates the development of well-defined project plans for improvement initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management. Manages multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing to meet deadlines and providing project management guidance and assistance. Guides stakeholders to implement and maintain processes related to the communication of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables appropriately as outlined in the communication plan to all stakeholders.
Leads the process improvement cycle
- Leads and engages cross-functional teams through the process improvement cycle to assess, improve, and sustain results, incorporating industry best practices and innovative solutions. Assists in the development of data collection plans, data analysis, and effective data/information visualizations.
Leads change management initiatives
- Drives the identification of appropriate measures and metrics to monitor performance, analyze an improvement opportunity, and ensure the effectiveness of change via presentations to stakeholders. Helps leaders through the change process, including process, technology, and people management.
Supports change management skill development
- Provides just-in-time training on methodologies, tools, and behaviors to empower departments to pursue continuous improvement and innovative solutions. Helps build internal capacity by coaching others to conduct their own assessments and improvement events.
Participates in special projects to support the department’s advancement of the Gift of Life Mission
- Provides support to department and organization leadership in meeting annual departmental goals and objectives. Assists department leadership with special projects.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration (emphasis on quality/operations), healthcare administration, engineering, organizational development, human factors, or equivalent work experience
- Possess strong Project Management experience and skills.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience related to continuous improvement, systems analysis, operations consulting, group facilitation, team building, interpersonal communication, ideally within a clinical environment.
- Green or Black Belt (Six Sigma) certification required as well as knowledge of Power BI
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of applying process improvement concepts and familiarity with tools and methodologies, including PDCA/PDSA, Lean, or Six Sigma concepts.
- Able to utilize and apply basic statistics.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and meeting timelines.
- Experience consulting and working collaboratively with varied stakeholders.
- experience in data analysis and data visualization.
- Demonstrated experience in handling challenging situations at all levels. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio.
