Job summary

Bora Bora Pharmaceuticals in Maple Grove, MN seeks a Principal Scientist to lead formulation development and process transfer for complex oral solids and injectables. This hands‑on leader will drive scale‑up, validation, and manufacturing support, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients to ensure timely delivery.

Strong background in OSD manufacturing, analytical methods, and excellent communication are required; hybrid work arrangement available with emphasis on site collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field with 10 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree with at least 5 years of the above experience, or
• PhD with at least 3 years of the above experience.
• Experience with oral solid dosage formulation, process development, scale‑up and technology transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead early‑stage formulation development and process evaluation using QbD principles.
• Direct technology transfer, scale‑up, and collaboration with internal and client teams.
• Support R&D/DOE, production of pilot and registration batches, and continuous process monitoring.
• Provide guidance on equipment, controls, CQAs and CPPs to ensure robust processes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical science / chemistry / chemical engineering or related life science

Master's degree in the above fields

PhD in a related field
