Job summary

Lam Research seeks a Process Engineer to develop and optimize advanced semiconductor processing methods. You will design, test, and refine process formulations, align hardware to meet processing requirements, and analyze data to guide development decisions.

Ideal candidates bring a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field with experience in materials science, chemical engineering, or physics, plus familiarity with ALD, CVD, PECVD, or PVD processes and statistical methods.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics, or a PhD with no prior professional experience.
• 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with semiconductor equipment and surface preparation.
• Understanding of ALD/CVD/PECVD/PVD processes.
• Knowledge of Plasma Physics, RIE, ALE, ICP/CCP and material characterization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering R&D for Lam's semiconductor equipment and systems.
• Review and enhance processing techniques used in fabrication.
• Develop and sustain new processes and improvements to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Analyze test data to define next steps and process specifications.
• Collaborate with teams to plan data collection, analyze results, and report customer demos.
• Support next generation product development and roadmap alignment.
