Job summary

California Bioenergy LLC is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical leadership across RNG projects and mentor junior engineers. A degreed engineer with PE preference and strong knowledge of anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, and gas conditioning is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; master’s preferred.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years of process engineering experience.
• Preferred RNG, biogas, anaerobic digestion, or gas processing experience.
• Ability to develop and review BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and heat and material balances.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering calculations and process modeling tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and approval of process design drawings, calculations, data sheets, specifications, and technical deliverables.
• Serve as a technical authority on RNG system processes including anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, gas conditioning, and compression.
• Provide engineering direction and oversight to Process Engineers and other staff.
• Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, operational, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization of facilities.
