Job summary

PBF Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer, Process Design, to provide process engineering design and project support across refinery units. The role includes owning the relief valve and flare systems programs, performing sizing and calculations, and supporting commissioning and capital projects from inception through commissioning.

Qualified candidates will hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years in petrochemical process design, be proficient in HYSYS, and capable of leading

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant petrochemical experience.
• Project development experience in refinery/chemical plant environment.
• Experience using HYSYS or other process design software.
• PSPPM or PSV sizing software experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project development: input process design, technical reviews, scope definition, and alignment with standards.
• Own and manage relief valve and flare system programs, sizing, calculations, and PSV database.
• Perform equipment sizing and design reviews for pumps, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, piping, etc.
• Evaluate processes for performance, energy efficiency, and cost reductions; support FEED and detailed design.
• Ensure safety/environmental compliance and support Process Hazards Analysis.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, reliability, safety, and environmental teams.
• Utilize PI System, Seeq, and Aspen HYSYS for troubleshooting and optimization, and prepare reports.
