CRB is seeking a Process Engineer IV to lead process design on diverse life sciences and food & beverage projects, guiding technical quality from concept through startup. Located in Kansas City, St.

Louis, Omaha, Dallas, or Houston, this role partners with clients, vendors and cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant and cost‑effective solutions while mentoring junior engineers and designers. You will review calculations, oversee scopes and budgets, and help drive project outcomes

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in a discipline-specific field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in design/construction.
• Demonstrated experience leading process engineering scope on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.
• Interface with clients and external partners to support project execution and deliverables.
• Plan, prioritize, and direct discipline work, including management of process engineering scope, schedule, and budget on complex projects.
• Partner with the Project Manager to support proposal development, man-hour planning, and discipline-specific project scheduling.
• Develop construction drawing packages and specifications for complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Support and lead construction-phase activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, developing punch lists, and contributing to construction progress reporting.
• Perform and/or review engineering calculations and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and overall project quality.
• Lead process system design efforts, including programming, master planning, and facility layout development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers (Engineer I/II, Designer I/II).
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, vendors, and construction partners to support project execution.
• Site selection and site due diligence support.
• Master planning and capacity planning/expansion strategy development.
• Facility layout and process flow development.
• Vendor package coordination for complex or novel systems.
• Participation in risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, HACCP, or similar).
• 3D model review and coordination.
• Support for field walkdowns and development of field reports.
• Oversight of commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
