Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Akron, OH, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to drive scale-up of new polymer chemistries and process technologies toward production readiness.

You will lead cross-functional teams to design, install, and optimize pilot/distillation systems at the Akron Polymer Engineering Pilot Center. The ideal candidate has a chemical/polymer engineering background with 3–5 years in process engineering, strong project management, and proficiency in PI, Minitab, and Aspen for data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or polymer engineering or related field.
• Experience in production/process engineering in a chemical PS M/ refinery setting preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety-first culture and promote a safety-minded work environment.
• Collaborate to scope, design, and specify process equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Develop process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, start-up plans).
• Scale up polymer chemistries and technologies toward production readiness.
• Lead production trials and troubleshoot using engineering fundamentals.
