Job summary

X-energy is seeking a senior process engineer to contribute to the design, installation, and operation of multiple process areas at our Oak Ridge site. You will lead design, procurement, installation, and operation activities, and work on TRISO fuel related processes.

You will develop process specifications, collaborate with suppliers and the R&D team to scale lab processes to pilot and production levels, and partner with regulatory teams to implement safety controls and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, material science, or mechanical engineering.
CAD and P&ID experience required.
Experience with industrial equipment design, procurement, installation, and operation.

Responsibilities

Perform design, procurement, installation, and operation of multiple process areas.
Develop specifications for process equipment and coordinate with suppliers.
Work with subcontractors to design, construct, deliver, and install process equipment.
Translate lab-scale processes to pilot and production scale.
Establish safety procedures with regulatory teams for dangerous chemicals and equipment.
Ensure safety compliance of processes and equipment.
Design equipment layouts for new processes, products, or customers.
Monitor production performance and troubleshoot variances.
Maintain master lists of chemical inputs/outputs and equipment.
Lead long-term process improvement initiatives.
