Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Federal group seeks a Senior Process Engineer to support DOE and DOD facilities. You will lead or support critical projects, develop PFDs/P&IDs, size equipment, and model processes for multi-discipline teams, with travel about 25%.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in chemical engineering, 7+ years of related experience, strong communication and problem solving, and PE is preferred; ability to obtain DoE/DoD clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 7 years related experience; master's may substitute for 1 year.
• Excellent written & verbal communication; strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Previous consulting experience preferred; Professional Engineer strongly preferred; DOE/DOD clearance possible.
• The position may require travel to support projects, estimated at 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support project execution from initial process studies through EP C project execution.
• Independently develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing and specifications.
• Develop process models with Aspen, Hysys, ChemCAD or Excel.
• Support business development with engineering estimates and proposals.
• Demonstrate leadership on discipline-level teams within multidiscipline projects.
