Job summary

Enercon’s Federal Services Group is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to support DOE facilities. You will produce high-quality engineering documents, design gloveboxes and waste transfer systems, and maintain compliance with industry codes.

Based at one of several U.S. office locations, you will collaborate across disciplines, lead projects, and travel up to 15% to client sites. A U.S. citizenship and strong writing skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 4 years of Process Engineering experience.
  • Experience in the chemical, nuclear or federal field preferred.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Experience in design of chemical processes systems and controls and ability to develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and perform transient analyses.
  • General knowledge in chemical process simulation.
  • Experience in design and operation of Gloveboxes for nuclear material handling preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at client sites.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong coordination skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams.
  • Problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks.
  • Position may involve a client site assignment lasting several months at a time.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
