Job summary

Croda is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join the site engineering team in Alabaster, Alabama. This senior role drives process optimization across pilot, clinical, and commercial drug substance operations, owning the site roadmap and leading initiatives to reduce variation, boost yield, and expand capacity.

The role partners with Manufacturing, MS/TS, Quality, Reliability, and Supply Chain to govern improvement programs, oversee the Operational Excellence portfolio, and guide minor capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master's or doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in a regulated environment.
• Experience leading process improvement, capital projects and roadmap governance.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations for hazardous chemicals.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Process Engineering function, establish annual objectives and maintain improvement roadmaps.
• Prioritize engineering resources and improvement projects based on business requirements and expected impact.
• Develop engineering standards, best practices, systems and processes.
• Mentor process engineers and serve as the senior technical escalation point for manufacturing process performance issues.
• Own site-level performance and improvement programs for yield, gross margin, cycle time, throughput and efficiency.
• Identify losses and performance gaps, analyze trends, and drive corrective actions and targets.
• Perform value-stream analyses to identify bottlenecks and improve schedule adherence.
• Lead five-year portfolio of process-related capital projects and manage multiple minor capital projects.
