Job summary

Duke Energy's IGCC facility near Edwardsport, Indiana, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to provide daily oversight of process equipment, focusing on performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices. A BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or PE is required; 6+ years of engineering experience (5+ with PE) is preferred.

Familiarity with power generation, coal gasification, and Process Safety Management is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited program or PE required.
• Master's degree will be considered in lieu of BS.
• Fundamental knowledge of process safety management is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for design, operation, and maintenance problems.
• Support plant equipment within a team environment.
• Lead and mentor less senior engineers and co-op students.
• Prepare specifications, calculations, procedures, and equipment evaluations.
• Conduct engineering studies and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Contribute to Process Safety Management activities and incident investigations.
