Aircapture in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to design and scale large-scale DAC processes. You’ll own process models (Aspen Plus), develop PFDs/P&IDs, and work across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls teams to move concepts to production. Ideal candidates have 9+ years in process engineering, a B.S.

in Chemical Engineering, and hands-on experience with large equipment and CAD tools. This onsite role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field.
• 9+ years of process engineering experience and full project lifecycle exposure.
• Proficiency in Aspen Plus for modeling, mass/energy balances and simulations.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale process equipment and safe operation.
• Strong communication with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Solid knowledge of P&ID standards and CAD-based process docs.
• Experience with government-funded or early-stage/scale-up environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to large-scale process designs from R&D to commercial installations.
• Own and maintain Aspen Plus models to support design and technoeconomic evaluation.
• Create and review PFDs, P&IDs, GAs, and process control narratives.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls engineers.
• Support Operations with troubleshooting, efficiency improvements and data analysis.
• Develop TEAs for new project evaluations with Finance and Commercial teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide design changes and system development.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and vendors for equipment procurement and scheduling.
