Job summary

AirCapture is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, California. In this critical role, you will design mechanical systems for our innovative Direct Air Capture technology, closely collaborating with electrical and process engineers to enhance our systems and support field deployments.

We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 7 years of experience in hardware systems, and a hands-on approach. This position is onsite and offers a salary range of $165,000–$185,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and scaling industrial or hardware systems.
• Proven track record of taking products from design through build, test, and deployment.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for our next-generation DAC units.
• Translate prototypes into scalable, manufacturable systems.
• Support field deployments and iterate technology based on real-world performance.
• Work with vendors and manufacturing partners to bring systems into production.
• Drive engineering rigor through testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
