Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team and lead projects from inception through construction. You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and supplier inquiries while collaborating with local clients and virtual teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in chemical/process engineering, a PE license or on-track, and hands-on experience with ChemCAD/Aspen. Salary range is $120,000-$130,000 per year, with health and 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, licensure eligible.
  • Active PE license or on-track to acquire PE within 12 months of hire.
  • 10+ years of working experience required.
  • Exposure to chemical plants and related industrial settings preferred.
  • Experience with Chemical simulation programs such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
  • Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a client-facing role with contractors and vendors.
  • Experience with building codes and chemical storage requirements.
  • Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
  • Experience with industrial wastewater treatment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering studies, write reports, and complete engineering calculations.
  • Develop PFDs and P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.
  • Provide engineering oversight and checking of process deliverables.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete tasks.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages.
  • Perform field work to support the above responsibilities.

Overview

SSOE is looking for a Senior Process Engineer who would like to be part of our team. This person will support local clients, but also with expectation to virtually support project teams in other locations as well. This individual will work on and lead projects from inception through construction developing PFD’s, P&ID’s, process calculations, equipment selection and specifications in the early phases of our projects and continue to provide support through construction.

Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

  • Explore the benefits that go hand-in-hand with a process engineering position at SSOE Group. The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Active professional registration (PE) or on-track to acquire PE license within 12 months of hire date.
  • 10+ years of working experience required.
  • Exposure to chemical plants and other related industrial settings strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a chemical simulation program, such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
  • Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom a plus.
  • Ability to work in a client-facing role while partnering with contractors and vendors.
  • Experience with building codes and chemical storage requirements.
  • Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
  • Experience with industrial wastewater treatment a plus.
  • Salary Range: $120,000-$130,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
