Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Process Engineer to join our Scottsdale team. You will lead projects from inception through construction, developing PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment selections, and specifications for chemical industry clients.

You will collaborate with local and remote project teams, provide technical leadership, perform field work, and support bid packages. A PE licensure and 10+ years of experience are preferred, along with knowledge of chemical plants and

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE licensure or on track to PE.
• 10+ years of experience in process engineering.
• Experience in chemical plants, metals processing, food/beverage or consumer product plants.
• Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and equipment specifications.
• Dust collection or DHA experience is a plus.
• Product packaging experience is a plus.
• Experience with chemical simulation tools such as ChemCAD or Aspen.

Responsibilities

Overview

SSOE is looking for a Senior Process Engineer who would like to be part of our team. This person will support local clients, but also with expectation to virtually support project teams in other locations as well. This individual will work on and lead projects from inception through construction developing PFD's, P&ID's, process calculations, equipment selection and specifications in the early phases of our projects and continue to provide support through construction.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanial Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) or tracked to becoming PE.
• 10+ years of working experience required.
• Exposure to chemical plants, metals processing, food, beverage or consumer product plants, and/or other related industrial settings strongly preferred.
• Dust Collection or experience with Dust Hazard Analysis is a plus.
• Product Packaging experience is a plus.
• Experience with a chemical simulation program, such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
• Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom a plus.
• Ability to work in a client-facing role while partnering with contractors and vendors.
• Experience with building codes and chemical storage requirements.
• Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial wastewater treatment a plus.
• Salary Range: $120,000-140,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
