Job summary

Naprotek, LLC in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced engineer to provide engineering support to the production team, ensuring manufacturability, quality and cost targets. The role may act as supervisor in the manager's absence.

Responsibilities include reviewing customer documents, supporting the SMT line, creating tooling and process travelers, implementing ECO changes, and leading manufacturing technical issue resolution with cross‑functional teams. Strong English and IPC knowledge required.

Job purpose

Provide engineering support to production group to meet manufacturability, quality and cost requirements. In the absence of manager perform function as a supervisor directing duties in various areas of production. Must be flexible to support a small company’s goals and may have other duties as assigned by manager.

Duties and responsibilities

• Review customer documents and develop processes.
• Support SMT line: program and troubleshooting.
• Create or order tooling to ensure productivity and quality.
• Create profiles for reflow and wave process.
• Resolve quality and manufacturing process issues.
• Implement ECO and coordinate with customers design changes and respond to their requests.
• Lead the resolution on all manufacturing technical issues in partnership with other teams.
• Establish procedures related manufacturing process and production equipment/s.
• Create Process Travelers.
• Supervise, monitor and assign duties as required during manager absence.

Qualifications

Must read, write and understand English, understanding verbal and written instructions. Must have computer skills, such as window, DOS, Excel and Microsoft Word application. Have knowledge of PCB assembly methods, procedures, and IPC standard.

Additional Knowledge and Related Experience Required

Requires 4 years college or equivalent. 2 – 5 years plus experience in a PCB manufacturing environment. 3 years plus hands-on experience in quality/process improvement activities. 5 years plus experience in quality/process improvement activities or 4 years plus project engineer experience.
