Job summary

Keystone Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with a focus on municipal wastewater to lead design-build projects. The role requires a PE license and a civil/environmental/chemical engineering degree, with DBIA/PMP credentials a plus.

You will work on scoping, design, and specifications from proposal through delivery, coordinating with clients and internal teams. Responsibilities include independent design, calculations for biological treatment and pump sizes, and QC/PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer's license is required.
• DBIA and/or PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience in municipal wastewater design and construction drawings/specifications.
• Experience with contract and construction management and industrial wastewater is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and client interaction abilities.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Organizational and time-management abilities; ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead new projects with varying scopes using available resources.
• Self-manage workload and timelines from proposal to delivery.
• Develop proposal scopes with Project/Client Managers.
• Design and specify full projects independently.
• Coordinate with team members, owners and clients on scope and decisions.
• Manage multiple schedules across design and construction phases.
• Make independent technical design decisions.
• Develop calculations for biological treatment, process pipes and pumps.
• Edit CSI specifications for project manuals.
• Collaborate with designers on drawing packages and markups.
• Develop concepts for wastewater treatment processes.
• Provide QC and PE reviews for team output.
• Deliverable QC comments based on high-level concepts.

Senior Process Engineer

Keystone Engineering Group, Inc. is a Professional Engineering Firm and Systems Integrator with 25+ years of experience in Design and Design-Build services for Water, Wastewater and private industries. We have five offices located in Southeast Pennsylvania, Northeast Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Lewes Delaware, and Seaford Delaware.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineer's license is required
• Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
• Experience in municipal wastewater required, including production of contract drawings and specifications
• Experience with contract and construction management and with industrial wastewater treatment is a plus
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and approachability to work effectively with peers and clients
• Ability to read and understand engineering and construction drawings, and standard specifications
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and show close attention to detail
• Organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to work with strict and competing deadlines on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

• Take on new projects with unknown scopes and limited guidance using available resources
• Be self‑sufficient on project tasks from proposal to deliverable, self‑managing workload and timelines
• Develop proposal scopes with Project Managers and Client Managers
• Take solo responsibility for the design and specification of full projects
• Coordinate directly with team members, owners and clients on required information, scope and technical decisions
• Manage multiple concurrent, competing schedules between design and construction projects
• Make independent technical design decisions
• Develop calculations for biological treatment, process pipe and pump sizes
• Edit CSI type specifications for project manuals
• Work with designers to develop drawing packages and provide markups
• Develop concepts for wastewater treatment process
• Provide QC and PE reviews for the work of other staff members
• Deliverable QC review comments are abstract and discussion based on high‑level concepts

Our engineers travel locally to client sites and occasionally have overnight travel trips for projects.
