Job summary

Roof Penetration Housing (RPH) in Waterford Works, NJ, seeks a seasoned Process Design Engineer to lead development and optimization of industrial processes for plastic and metal components. You will design PFDs, run simulations, specify equipment, and drive improvements across manufacturing systems while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in process design engineering within plastics and/or metals manufacturing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with cost estimation, lifecycle planning, and plant retrofits.
• Strong understanding of injection molding, extrusion, heat treatment, welding, and surface finishing processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) for new products under development by RPH's R&D team.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling for operations such as injection molding, extrusion, stamping, machining, and surface treatment.
• Specify and size equipment including molding machines, presses, CNC systems, dryers, and cooling systems.
• Collaborate with both internal and external materials engineers, mechanical engineers, and operations teams to integrate new technologies and troubleshoot existing processes.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO, and ASTM standards relevant to plastics and metalworking.
• Prepare technical documentation including risk assessments, SOPs, and commissioning plans.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Lead IQ/OQ/PQ validations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and production teams during process implementation and optimization.
