Job summary

Rockline Industries in Wisconsin seeks a senior automation engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of FactoryTalk Batch systems and batch cleaning processes.

You will develop scalable batch recipes, integrate automation with PLCs, HMI, MES, and ensure compliance and traceability while providing technical leadership on major projects. This is a safety-sensitive role with direct impact on safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in consumer products, chemicals, food, or regulated manufacturing is preferred.
• Expertise with Rockwell Automation PLCs, FactoryTalk Batch/View, and ISA-88.
• Skills in chemical process automation (batching, dosing, mixing, transfer).
• Familiarity with CIP/SIP cleaning systems and historian/reporting platforms.
• Ability to read technical drawings and process documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of FactoryTalk Batch systems and batch cleaning processes.
• Develop scalable batch recipes and automation strategies from process requirements.
• Integrate and standardize automation with PLCs, HMI, MES; ensure compliance and traceability.
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues and drive process improvements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project support.
• Uphold safety standards and company values; assist with other tasks as needed.
• This is a safety-sensitive role where performance directly impacts safety.
