Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Evadale, TX, is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join the Process Control Systems Support Group. You will deliver and maintain reliability of the facility's process control system, serving as a project technical lead for DCS/PLC hardware, software, and networks.

The role involves collaborating with operations, maintenance and suppliers, leading upgrades, and driving improvements in safety, quality and productivity, with travel under 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required, Electrical or Chemical preferred.
• 7+ years' experience in process control or automation, with large-scale upgrades.
• Direct experience with Honeywell, DeltaV or Metso/Valmet DCS platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure DCS/PLC network hardware, software and peripherals; troubleshoot devices.
• Perform facility control system network administration; monitor security and capacity.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and suppliers to troubleshoot production issues and sustain improvements.
• Lead special projects and upgrade plans for process control systems.
• Ensure control systems reliability and integration with business systems.
