Job summary

Port Townsend Paper Corporation is seeking a Process Control Manager in Port Townsend, WA, to lead the Process Control department and shape the strategy for DCS/PLC systems across the mill. You will oversee design, installation, and optimization of control networks and partner with Operations, Maintenance, and IT/OT teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Control, Automation, or related Engineering field or equivalent
5+ years in process control, automation, or related field in heavy industrial/manufacturing
Experience leading technical projects and mentoring staff
Strong knowledge of DCS/PLC, data acquisition, and process information systems

Responsibilities

Lead and direct the Process Control department, establishing priorities and strategies
Develop and maintain the overall process control strategy and standards for the mill
Coach and develop Process Control personnel and coordinate cross‑functional work
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, IT/OT to implement control improvements
Ensure reliability, security, and performance of DCS/PLC and network systems
Manage major capital projects and department budget
