Job summary

The Senior Process Automation Engineer role is based in Oakdale, MN and is a key contributor within the Automation Engineering team, supporting service project upgrades across the Nutrition Plant Engineering Division in North America. This role designs, develops, tests, and commissions industrial process automation systems, serving as a technical lead and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Typically 5+ years in a similar automation engineering role.
Travel up to 40% as required.

Responsibilities

Support Sales in automation upgrades and digital service growth.
Participate in the sales phase with customer meetings, pre‑sales support, cost estimation, and proposal development.
Provide input for scope definition, pricing, and execution planning.
Develop detailed Process Functional Descriptions and automation software.
Coordinate with electrical designers to meet system and customer requirements.
Act as Automation Lead on assigned projects and mentor engineers.
