Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Process Automation Engineer (Senior Specialist) for the West Point, PA site.

You will support automation across the manufacturing floor, ensuring compliant, high-quality vaccine production and reliable operation of control systems. The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing automation, strong knowledge of DeltaV DCS, PLCs, and IT-automation integration, plus SDLC and change control experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Five+ years in manufacturing automation within regulated industry.
• Ability to translate manufacturing needs into automation and digital solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication; leadership in matrixed org.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot automation issues and improve manufacturing performance.
• Maintain automation systems in cGMP compliance throughout lifecycle.
• Provide automation SME support within production team.
• Support peers and contribute to team success.
• Review GMP-compliant documents and SOPs; ensure safety.
