Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a senior lawyer to provide legal support to the Private Bank, Merrill, and Consumer Investments teams. Qualifications

• Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one state where Bank of America does business
• At least 5 years of attorney experience in law firm, government, or in-house environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication; executive presence when dealing with senior leaders
• Strong issue spotting, risk assessment, research, and problem solving abilities
• Ability to manage a large matters workload; adjust to fast-paced environment
• Collaborative with lawyers, business partners, and compliance professionals

Responsibilities

• Analyzes legal issues and implications on consumer banking and wealth management products, services, and regulatory matters
• Communicates clear, concise, actionable legal advice to business partners and leadership
• Interprets rulings, laws, and regulations from a compliance and control standpoint
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates complex legal documents such as engagement letters and legal opinions
• Gathers, assesses, and evaluates information to form judgments
• Supports responses to government examinations, investigations, and litigation
• Reviews wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and state law entity documents
• Delivers practical legal advice regarding investment products in fiduciary and Merrill brokerage accounts
• Conflicts resolution including liaison with regulatory, litigation and internal investigation teams
